We are seeing hundreds of Spangled Drongos passing over Crab Island and out to sea. They are currently migrating from New Guinea south to mainland Australia to breed for the summer.
Crab Island, located in remote northern Australia, is the largest nesting rookery in the World for the rare Flatback Sea Turtle. It is a hostile island, where few people have ventured, largely due to it's reputation for large saltwater crocodiles. In 2007 Brett & Kelsey Leis embarked on a research project over several years discovering the secrets of the turtles & crocodiles. What they found has since lead to documentaries by National Geographic & BBC.
